The present simple helps us talk about habits, routines, and things that are usually true.

I play.
I don't play.

What does it mean?

It talks about regular actions.

Use the present simple for things people do again and again, like every day, every week, or usually.

Positive form

Use the base verb. Add s for one person.

Most verbs add s. Some verbs add es.

For he, she, it, and one name, change the action verb in positive sentences.

Consonant + y changes to ies.

If the verb ends in a consonant plus y, change y to ies. If it has a vowel before y, just add s.

Use don't or doesn't.

Important: Do not add s after doesn't. Say “She doesn't play,” not “She doesn't plays.”

Start with Do or Does.
