IELTS Writing Task 1 Learning Lab: Vertical Bar Graph

Version 3: practise describing a vertical bar graph with accurate comparisons, selected data, and a strong overview.

What is expected?

In a vertical bar graph, the height of each bar shows the size of each category. Your report should compare categories, identify the most and least significant figures, and support your description with data.

Intro
Introduce what the graph compares, including the unit and time period where relevant.
Overview
Give the main picture: which category is highest, which is lowest, and what broad pattern is visible.
Body
Group similar bars and compare them using accurate numbers.
Avoid
Do not explain causes or make personal comments. Describe only what the graph shows.
