What do they mean?

Conditionals use if to connect a condition and a result. They help us talk about facts, real future possibilities, imaginary situations, past regrets, and past causes with present results.

If water boils, it turns to steam.
If it rains, I will stay home.
If I had wings, I would fly.
If I had studied, I would have passed.

Ask: fact, real, imaginary, or past?

Use zero conditional for facts and routines.
